Northcoast Security provides new temperature scanning devices as businesses reopen
The Sandusky County Chamber of Commerce has seen many of their members businesses affected by the Covid-19 pandemic with the mandated closures that have brought the economy to a sudden halt. Tyler Kneeskern, Marketing and Membership Coordinator at the Sandusky County Chamber recently learned of one member that is helping get area businesses back open while keep their customers and employees safe.

Northcoast Security in Fremont is offering a new temperature scanning device, SpeedFace+ by ZKTecho.
SpeedFace+ began as a series of high-performance face, palm and fingerprint recognition readers that provide 100% touchless user authentication for various applications including access control, time & attendance, visitor management, event management and more. Since the pandemic began, ZKTecho developed thermal technology for the device that has the capability to detect a person’s body temperature and if they are wearing a protective mask. Users can be denied door access if an unacceptable body temperature or if
no mask is detected.
Some features of the new technology include:
User authentication read range up to 8 feet
Stores and matches up to 50,000 face templates (Model SF1008)
Face verification possible while wearing protective mask
Can store and match up to 5,000 palm templates (Model SF1005)
Additionally stores and matches up to 10,000 fingerprint templates (Model SF1005-V+)
Has an 8” programmable touchscreen display (Model SF1008+)
Intelligent energy-saving design
Dual-lens IR & VL camera recognizes faces in both total darkness and bright sunlight.
Body-temperature detection accurate up to 0.6 F from up to 18” away

According to Roger Kuns, owner of Northcoast Security, there have been over 200 devices
distributed throughout the area. Some of the local businesses utilizing the new software include, Terra State Community College, Crown Battery Manufacturing Company, Whirlpool Corporation, Promedica, Vanguard-Sentinel Career and Technology Centers, Gibsonburg Schools, and more.
